Understanding Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs with Dr. Melissa Smith, DVM, PHD, DACVAA, Service Head of Anesthesia & Pain Management, Schwarzman Animal Medical Center

This one-hour, CE accredited educational program will provide participants with:
- An understanding of how NSAIDs affect clinical patients at the molecular and organismal level
- An understanding of the benefits and risks of using NSAIDs
- An understanding of the appropriate patient selection and monitoring for NSAID therapy
Participants will be asked to complete a Google Form during the course to receive CE credit. The form will be shared in the Zoom chat during the event.

About Melissa Smith, DVM, PhD, DACVAA
Dr. Melissa Smith is a board-certified diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. She completed her bachelor of science at Duke University with a major in chemistry, following which she earned her doctor of veterinary medicine from Cornell University, and went on to Boston University School of Medicine where she obtained a Ph.D. in pharmacology. Her clinical training includes a rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, followed by a residency in anesthesia and analgesia at the University of Georgia.
