Dr Emalee Blumhagen of the Animal Medical Center in New York City

Dr. Emalee Blumhagen grew up in Seattle, WA and was the youngest of four children. She played ice hockey at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA where she obtained her undergraduate degree in 2010. After graduating, she worked in human medicine in the field of diagnostic imaging while also training in wildlife rehabilitation. She then went on to obtain her degree in veterinary medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA in 2019, after which she completed a general internship at the Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, MA in 2020 followed by a specialty surgical internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Diego, CA. Her current interests and professional focus includes soft tissue surgery and orthopedic surgery, as well as minimally invasive surgery. She is very excited to join the surgery team at AMC. In her spare time, Dr. Blumhagen enjoys spending time with her two cats, running, and going on rock climbing and mountaineering adventures with her wife and family.
