Dental Disease: Getting to the Root of the Problem

February is National Pet Dental Health Month, which is a good reminder to stay on top of your pet’s oral health. You may not realize it, but dental disease is the most common disease in dogs and cats and, if left untreated, can lead to pain, loss of teeth, and infection to major organs in the body. On February 17th, 2021, Dr. Jordan Ford, Resident Doctor in AMC’s Dentistry Service, discussed the most common types of dental disease in cats and dogs and reviewed the different treatment options available in veterinary medicine. Learn how to recognize oral pain in pets and what you can do to keep your pet’s oral health in good shape!
